![]() ![]() I've heard (but never personally experienced) of some folks having some incompatibilities with the HK audio not working after swapping a later model radio into their older car, so that might be an issue. A salvaged radio works just as well, and they can be had for 1/10th of that price, though around $450 is more common. To answer ttonyy's question, that radio would work just fine to have factory Nav, however, it's possible to find a radio much more cheaply than that. If one were to purchase that nuvi model, they have a source of current maps for life. It is a fairly simple process to copy the maps from the nuvi onto a USB flash drive and update the vehicle's system. You can pick up a nuvi 2490LMT for less than the cost of a single map update, and the maps are updated every three months. Note that there are Garmin nuvi units that are completely compatible with our systems. Note that the official, OEM 2014 map upgrade disk contains Garmin maps that are actually the 2013.10 version, which is more than a year older than the current Garmin nuvi map version, which is 2014.10 - unless they've gone to 2014.20 since I last checked. ![]() The terrain is a separate file that doesn't need to be updated it'll work fine regardless of what map version you install. ![]() Well, to answer the OP's question: I don't know about the 2013 model's update disk, however, I've seen the OEM 2014 update for a 2012 vehicle and it does NOT contain new 3D buildings. ![]()
